Internet Explorer 9 Released

Two years after Internet Explorer 8 came onto the scene Microsoft officially released version 9 of the worlds most used web browser on March 14, 2011. Internet Explorer 9 touts a number of improvements over it’s predecessors in terms of simplified interface, speed, security and support of HTML5, the latest version of the predominant language for web pages.



The user interface has more minimal appearance, providing more screen space for the web page than in previous versions. The address field and search box has been reduced to just one box, creating a more simple user experience. Scripting and web page code is processed more quickly, and IE9 supports video hardware acceleration which improves upon graphics processing with reduced CPU load. On the security front, Microsoft has added a feature called tracking protection which allows the user to reject communication with third-party websites that collect and track browsing data and history.

On the downside, Internet Explorer 9 is only available for Windows Vista or 7, not Windows XP. To learn more about this latest incarnation from Microsoft and download it visit their Internet Explorer product page at:
